frequently asked questions

Questions and answers about our program.

  • Season dates

Our 2019-2020 season start date is currently unknown. We would normally start in November, but with the current pandemic, that is unlikely. Please check back later for updates. Check the event schedule for the complete list of practices and competitions.

  • Practice Schedule

We usually practice three days a week.  In 2020-2021, we’re unsure of our practice schedule. Normally, we would be practicing Mondays at Boulder High School (in the field house behind the school, next to the football field), and Tuesdays and Thursdays at Fairview High School (in the main mat room, near the main entrance). Practice begins at 6PM and ends at 7:30PM.  As a general rule, if BVSD has school that day, we will practice.  If there is no school, or if BVSD is closed due to weather, we will not practice.  Check the event schedule for the complete list of practices.

  • Costs

There are three components to the cost of the wrestling season. The first is a USA Wrestling Card, which currently cost $15 per year per wrestler.  The second is our club fee, which is currently $240 for the season.  This fee includes the entry fees for five tournaments and the end of season state tournament.  This fee also helps pay for the school facilities we rent for practices.  Finally, the third cost is a deposit for the club uniform for the competitions. This includes a singlet, a sweatshirt, a pair of shorts, and an equipment bag.  This is only a deposit and will be returned when the gear is returned in good shape. The deposit is $80, and is usually done by check which we will not deposit unless the gear is not returned.

We offer a limited number of scholarships to assist with the club fee, please contact us for more information.  No child will be prevented from wrestling due to cost.

  • Competitions

We currently do not know our competition schedule for the 2020-2021 season.  We are a member of, and compete in the Peak2Peak Youth Wrestling League.  The regular season tournaments will be hosted by various league clubs in northern Colorado.  The final state tournament will be held at the Denver Coliseum. There is a special “rookies only” tournament for first year wrestlers only.  Check the event schedule for the complete list of competitions.
